Accommodation
Camp Fairbairn offers a choice of safari style tents or a dorm block. Both areas have a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, toilets and showers. Large groups can use both residential facilities with students gathering in the tent kitchen area for meals.
Although Covid is less of a problem we still prefer a little extra space for our campers where possible. We can exceed this, have 4 instead of 3 in a tent, if needs arise. Please discuss any concerns with your CFOEC Coordinator.
Our tents have been recently upgraded to a larger square design with a more robust zip, imagine a big monopoly house.
A tent camp plan (DOCX, 75KB) is available here or from your coordinator to assist in planning your group's sleeping arrangements.
Our dorm area has 12 rooms with bunk beds sleeping four in each room. The dorm area has internal toilets for night use. A dorm plan (DOCX, 267KB) is available from your coordinator to help with planning. Our dormitory building is equipped with ramps and a room with wheelchair access.
Our activity hall is available for visiting groups. The hall has some audio visual equipment including a TV, Blue Ray/DVD player, data projector, sound system and a pull down screen.
We can provide some sporting equipment but have found things tend to work best when schools bring their own.
Catering
Camp Fairbairn provides a provisioning service for visiting schools and community groups. Fresh food is delivered daily and a wide selection is available.
We have recently updated our options an choices to include some set menus which will make you planning easier.
When you have made your menu choices please complete the provisioning order (DOCX, 85KB) and send it back to us at least 7 days before your camp starts.
If you are only staying 1 night select Option C and choose from the drop down boxes. Get in touch with any questions.
Preparation of all meals is the responsibility of the visiting groups, a great opportunity to involve students in meal preparation and cleaning up.
To ensure the safety of visitors who have allergies or special dietary needs Camp Fairbairn asks that visiting groups cater for these individuals.
Activities
Nearly all of our activities take place in a natural outdoor environment. This means students will be exposed to the elements and will come in contact with vegetation, water and any seasonal insect or animal life. Students need to come adequately equipped which includes a wide brimmed hat, enclosed shoes and a water bottle.
